Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated HGV Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy goods vehicles. This role requires a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems, with preferred 3 years experience. The ideal applicant will possess excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to safety and quality standards. Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HGVs, and other heavy equipment.
- Diagnose faults; perform repairs accordingly.
- Carry out minor fabrication/welding, soldering, as required for repairs or modifications.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to repair or replace components.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
- Assist with equipment upgrades or modifications to improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with team members and clients regarding repair status or issues.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely while adhering to manual handling procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic or similar role specialising in heavy vehicle maintenance (at least 3 years).
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience relevant to heavy machinery.
