Overview:
We are currently seeking a caring and dedicated Senior Support Worker to join our team. We will only accept applications from candidates with a driving licence and use of a car. As we are a small company the Senior part of the job is partly salaried and office based once a week but with care and support responsibilities the rest of the time on an hourly rate. The Senior role requires you to be on call one weekend a month. You will play a vital role in providing support to service users mainly in the Hamilton, Larkhall, East Kilbride and Carluke areas And provide support and supervision to other staff in these areas. This position requires excellent communication skills, patience, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
Responsibilities:
- On call
- Auditing care notes and updating care plans
-Assisting with personal care (e.g., washing, dressing, toileting)
-Supporting with medication administration
-Preparing meals and assisting with feeding when required
-Provide social support and companionship
-Encouraging independence and supporting daily living activities
-Follow care plans and ensure the individual's safety and well-being at all times
-Maintaining accurate records of care provided
Requirements:
- Driving licence and use of car
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required
- Ability to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds and varying levels of independence
- Knowledge of dementia care is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision
- Flexible, reliable, and a caring nature
-Work one weekend on and one weekend off
Pay: £27,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
