We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the LS17 area of Leeds. This full-time role is available for an immediate start and offers ongoing work, with a competitive daily rate of £95–£105, depending on experience. The successful candidate will provide focused one‑to‑one support for a pupil with additional needs, helping them access the curriculum, build confidence, and develop essential skills within the classroom.
The school is a friendly and inclusive primary setting with a strong focus on personalised support and pupil wellbeing. Staff work collaboratively to create a calm, nurturing, and structured environment where all pupils feel valued and supported. The leadership team is approachable and places a strong emphasis on high‑quality SEND provision, ensuring staff are equipped with the guidance and strategies needed to support pupils effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with SEND needs throughout the school day.
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and support engagement.
- Assist with emotional regulation, behaviour, and social development.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider team to implement support plans.
Pre‑requisites:
- Experience supporting children with SEND in a primary school setting.
- A calm, patient, and nurturing approach.
- Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships.
- Confidence supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis.
