We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and highly skilled individual to join our team as Deputy Manager for our 2-bed home for children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). The successful candidate will be responsible for the safety and well-being of children, including supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and Quality Standards.

Lead with Heart and Vision:

Empower and Develop Your Team:
- Recruit, train, and mentor a passionate and skilled team. Encourage professional growth through regular training and development opportunities.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive team environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute.
Safeguard and Advocate:
- Implement and uphold robust safeguarding policies to protect our children. Be vigilant and proactive in ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Ensure full compliance with Ofsted regulations and Quality Standards, staying informed of best practices and continually striving for excellence.
Financial Management:
- Manage the home’s budget effectively, ensuring financial resources are used efficiently.
- Oversee financial planning, including budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring expenditures.
Engage and Inspire the Community:
- Cultivate strong connections with children, families, staff, and external stakeholders. Represent the home with professionalism and empathy.
- Encourage positive community involvement, helping our children feel connected and supported beyond the home.
Following Legislation and Ofsted Guidance:
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including:
- The Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
- Stay informed about updates to legislation, policies, and guidance affecting children’s residential care.
- Participate in Ofsted inspections, ensuring all records, policies, and practices align with regulatory expectations.
- Complete training to understand and apply legislative and regulatory frameworks effectively.

Qualifications and Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years (within the last 5 years) of experience within a children's residential care setting.
- Previous experience leading the team as either a Deputy or Senior/Team leader.
- NVQ Level 3: Children’s Residential Qualification, or equivalent (Essential).
- A level 4 CYFP: Children, Young People and Families Practitioner qualification (Desirable).
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes regulations, and Quality Standards.
- Excellent understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection.
- Ability to work flexibly and follow a rota of shift patterns including sleep-ins, on-call responsibilities and administrative days.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, especially Word, and comfortable with general administrative tasks.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- The desire to develop into an Ofsted Registered Manager position.
Additional Requirements:
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (or willingness to undergo).
- Valid manual driver's license.
- Have the right to work in the UK (we are unable to offer sponsorship)
