As an Arborist with COOMBES, you will play a key role in the safe removal and lineside clearance of vegetation and trees, supporting the upkeep and improvement of the UK’s rail infrastructure. Our continued growth as both a Principal Contractor and Framework Contractor to Network Rail means we are expanding our skilled team.
As our Arborist, you will:
- Carry out all tasks to a high and safe standard, following internal procedures and industry best practice.
- Operate and maintain the plant, tools, and equipment needed for each job, ensuring excellent care and attention to upkeep.
- Climb regularly and provide aerial rescue support to colleagues.
- Work in accordance with risk assessments, task briefings, and safe systems of work.
- Remove hazardous trees, plant vegetation, assist with light fencing repairs, and support wider vegetation management activities.
- Respond appropriately and professionally to queries from lineside residents, escalating issues when necessary.
Skills & Experience
- Recent hands-on experience in a vegetation or rail environment.
- PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification.
- Aerial Rescue qualification.
- Chainsaw competencies (CS30, CS31, CS32).
- Experience using brushcutters, strimmers and/or chippers.
