This is a 6 month fixed term contract to cover the recruitment process for a permanent team member.

We are looking for an Aerospace Production Engineer to join a high-reliability manufacturing team. This role bridges design engineering and production, ensuring aerospace components and assemblies are manufactured efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.
You will focus on process optimisation, production support, cost reduction, and continuous improvement, while supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and critical projects in a safety-conscious, quality-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and optimise manufacturing processes for aerospace components.
- Provide technical support to production teams to improve yield and resolve issues.
- Create and maintain work instructions, routings, and process documentation.
- Collaborate with design engineering to ensure Design for Manufacture/Assembly (DFM/DFA).
- Support production readiness for new product introductions, including tooling, fixtures, and validation.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Analyse production data to improve cycle time, quality, and cost efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with aerospace standards and regulations (e.g., AS9100, FAA, EASA).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality, Engineering, Planning, and Maintenance.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential:
- Experience in aerospace or high-reliability manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of stainless steel forming, spot welding, riveting, and similar processes.
- Familiarity with aerospace quality systems and documentation requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
- Proficient in core tools: PFD, PFMEA, Control Plans, PPAP/FAIR, APQP.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
Desirable:
- Experience with AS9100 or equivalent quality management systems.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency with CAD and manufacturing planning tools.
- Hands-on experience with tooling, fixtures, or process validation.
- Membership of IEMA or working towards Chartered Environmentalist status.
