Are You a Hunter Rather Than an Account Manager?
Our client is seeking a commercially driven sales professional to join a growing fuel distribution business and focus exclusively on winning new customers.
This is not an account management position.
This is a genuine business development role for somebody who enjoys prospecting, opening doors, securing appointments and converting opportunities into long-term profitable accounts.
The successful candidate will focus on developing relationships with fuel-consuming businesses across sectors such as:
- Haulage & Transport
- Construction
- Plant Hire
- Waste & Recycling
- Manufacturing
- Agriculture
- Commercial Fleet Operations
The Role
You will be responsible for identifying, approaching and securing new commercial customers purchasing fuels such as:
- DERV
- HVO
- Industrial Heating Oil
- Gas Oil
- AdBlue and associated fuel products
This role requires a highly motivated individual who is comfortable making outbound calls, attending customer meetings and developing opportunities from initial contact through to account acquisition.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate new business opportunities through proactive prospecting.
- Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline.
- Conduct high-volume outbound sales activity.
- Secure appointments with key decision makers.
- Prepare quotations and proposals.
- Negotiate and secure new customer agreements.
- Maintain accurate CRM and pipeline records.
- Deliver against agreed revenue and activity targets.
- Build long-term customer relationships.
The Ideal Candidate
Essential
- Proven sales or business development experience.
- Strong telephone and communication skills.
- Self-motivated and target driven.
- Confident approaching new prospects.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Highly Desirable
- Fuel distribution experience.
- Lubricants sales experience.
- Transport or logistics sales experience.
- Experience selling into commercial end-users.
- Existing industry contacts.
