About the Role
Our Support Workers play a vital role in supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism and other additional needs to live life as they choose. This may include supporting individuals with day-to-day life skills, accessing the community, attending appointments, taking part in social activities or even planning trips and holidays.
You will work as part of a supportive team, delivering high-quality, person-centred support that promotes independence, dignity, choice and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support in line with individual support plans
- Promote independence, dignity and respect at all times
- Support with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, shopping and budgeting
- Assist individuals to access the community and social activities
- Maintain accurate daily records and documentation
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and professionals
- Follow safeguarding and health & safety procedures
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a caring, compassionate and reliable individual with good communication and teamwork skills. The successful candidate must be flexible and able to work a range of shifts, including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins where required. A positive, patient and person-centred approach is essential. Previous experience is desirable but not essential, as full training and ongoing support will be provided.
Additional Information
Due to the nature of the role, there may be exposure to challenging behaviour, manual handling tasks, medication administration and passive smoke environments. Appropriate training and ongoing support will be provided to ensure staff can carry out their duties safely and confidently.
