Overview
We are seeking dedicated and knowledgeable Fostering Panel Members specialising in Health to contribute to our fostering assessment process. This vital role involves participating in foster panels and making recommendations on the suitability of fostering applicants.

Responsibilities
- Participate in fostering panel meetings, providing expert advice on health matters related to prospective foster carers
- Assess and review health information provided by applicants, ensuring suitability for fostering roles
- Collaborate with social workers, healthcare professionals, and other panel members to make informed decisions
- Contribute to the development of comprehensive reports and recommendations based on assessments
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding policies at all times
- Stay updated on current health legislation, best practices, and developments relevant to fostering and child welfare
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children, ideally within healthcare, such as nursing, counselling or similar.
- Strong understanding of health issues affecting children and young people in foster care
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to analyse complex information critically
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to safeguarding principles and ethical standards in all activities
- Previous experience serving on fostering or adoption panels is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
