Role : Class 1 Car Transporter Driver
Hours: Full time 48 hours per week, Mon - Fri

The role:
We’re looking for an experienced Class 1 Car Transporter Driver to join our Transport department based out of our site in Walsall.
Key responsibilities:
- Driving an 7/8 car slide car transporter
- Liaising with customers to arrange vehicle collections
- Knowledge of driver’s hours and working time directive regulations.
- Use of Tachographs, digital and analogue.
- Smart & professional appearance.
- You will be one of the most important customer facing members of the organisation, so a professional approach to both the job and customers is essential.

- The ability to work both as part of a team and by yourself.
- Ability to plan the route to a job in the most time and fuel-efficient way.
- Complete daily vehicle check sheets and defect reports as directed by the Transport Managers.
- Observe all relevant driving laws and regulations.
- Always provide good customer service (via telephone or face to face).
- Observe all health and safety requirements as directed.
- Always maintain tidiness and cleanliness as directed.
- Any other duties as directed by the Transport Managers.
- Report all load damage to vehicles or property in-line with Company procedures.
- Carry out vehicle damage appraisals to a high level of accuracy at all times.
The ideal candidate:
- You must have; Clean driving licence, Driver CPC (or in the process of obtaining) a Digital Tacho card
- Hold a full HGV C&E (Class 1 ) licence.
- Ability to travel to Tramway Close, Walsall
- Are an experienced and professional driver
- Experience of car transporters preferred but not essential.
- Ability to work in a complex, fast paced transport function.
- Interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience of working to deadlines with quality output.
- Proven experience of delivering exceptional service to customers.
