Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fitter to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining machinery and equipment in accordance with technical specifications. Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, and align mechanical components and machinery according to technical drawings and specifications.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform repairs or adjustments as required.
- Read and interpret technical diagrams, manuals, and schematics accurately.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure machinery installation complies with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Assist in the commissioning of new equipment and systems.
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to minimise risks in the workplace.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Fitter or in a similar mechanical assembly role.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, tools, and techniques.
- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and manuals accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent are preferred.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
