Main Purpose
In this role you will be part of the purchasing team responsible for a range of products being supplied to the Construction and Utility sectors. You will have a lot of supplier interaction via email, phone and in person. The objective is to support our fast paced sales team supplying goods at the best price and minimum lead time.

Principal Tasks
· Monitor and maintain stock levels utilising our ERP system.
· Raise purchase orders to replenish stocks.
· Monitor and chase overdue purchase orders.
· Negotiate pricing terms with suppliers.
· Seek out new suppliers and build relationships.
· Support the sales and operations teams.
· Investigating and resolving stock discrepancies.
· Meeting with supplier representatives.
· Managing purchase rebates.

Requirements
· Good GCSE and A levels minimum. HNC/HND or a degree would be beneficial but not essential.
· Some purchasing experience (minimum 3 years) in a commercial and technical environment.
· Familiar with raising orders and working on your own initiative. Be able to negotiate prices with suppliers.
· Customer and service focused.
· Problem solving approach.
· Conscientious, good team player, reliable, efficient and diplomatic.
· Self-motivated with a can-do attitude.
· Passionate about customer satisfaction and getting it right first time.
· Excellent time keeping and attendance record.
