Fire Glass UK Ltd is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers, suppliers, and glaziers of fire and acoustic glass, and is looking to appoint a full-time Factory Operative/Driver at their Edinburgh Branch, based in Scotland.

The job will include heavy lifting, manual handling, and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
The successful applicant would also receive training in different aspects of the glass trade with the opportunity to learn a new skill set and progress within the company.
Responsibilities:
The successful applicant must possess the below skills and experience:
- Operating glass machinery and equipment, and handling glass safely and effectively
- Work in line with all quality processes, conducting relevant quality checks and liaising with Supervisors and Production Managers on a daily basis to discuss quality and production targets.
- Assisting with preparing glass loads for customers, supporting drivers to load or offload vehicles as necessary and ensuring correct paperwork is used/completed
- Maintaining a high standard of workplace housekeeping and carrying out daily/weekly checks on equipment and machinery
- Working in a controlled and safe manner in line with Health and Safety policies, wearing appropriate PPE at all times and immediately reporting defects/accidents/near misses
- To deliver a variety of glass types to customers, in line with the agreed route and time schedule.
- Collect a variety of glass types as required from a variety of pick-up points.
- Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as fuel, oil, water, etc, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.
- Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate a delivery vehicle.
- Obtain relevant signatures for goods when you deliver.
- Comply with the company’s policies and procedures as set out within the Employee Handbook, Accreditation Manual (including Best Practice Quality Guide), and the Health and Safety Manual, as updated from time to time.
- Comply with the requirements of any Core Duties or other relevant procedural or policy documents applicable to your role.
