Senior Residential Children’s Practitioner

At Excel and Emerge Care & Therapeutic Solutions, we provide safe, therapeutic homes where children and young people can heal, grow and thrive. We’re looking for an experienced Senior Residential Children’s Practitioner to help lead high-quality, trauma-informed care using our relationship-centred Roots to Wings model.
What you’ll be doing
You will support the day-to-day leadership of the home by:
- Leading, motivating and supporting practitioners through supervision and reflective practice.
- Promoting emotional safety, confidence, growth and independence through the Roots to Wings model.
- Delivering consistent, high-quality therapeutic care tailored to each child’s needs.
- Stepping into additional responsibilities when the Home Manager or Deputy Manager is absent.
Essential criteria
- Experience in residential childcare or a similar children’s care setting.
- Experience leading, supervising or supporting colleagues.
- Hold, or be at least 50% towards, the Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
- Understanding of trauma, attachment, safeguarding and child-centred care.
- Strong communication skills, resilience and calm judgement under pressure.
- Full UK driving licence where travel or transport is required.
Desirable criteria
- Experience using trauma-informed or therapeutic care models.
- Knowledge of neurodiversity, co-regulation or relational practice.

Salary: Between £32,620 and £38,889* a year (£57.20 per sleep included).
*salary dependant on qualifications and undertaking minimum sleep’s per month.
