Job Summary
We are seeking a diligent and physically capable Picker/Packer/Warehouse Operative to join our busy warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately selecting, packing, and managing stock within a fast-paced environment. Experience with warehouse management systems and materials handling is advantageous. Responsibilities
- Select items from storage according to order specifications using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary
- Pack products securely and efficiently for dispatch, ensuring accuracy and quality standards are met
- Load and unload goods from lorries or containers, adhering to safety protocols
- Manage stock levels and organise inventory within the warehouse using warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including documentation and label verification
- Operate forklift trucks and other mechanical handling equipment safely and effectively (training provided if required)
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times
- Perform regular stock checks and report discrepancies promptly
- Support team members in various warehouse tasks as required
Requirements
- Previous experience in warehousing, logistics, or construction environments is desirable
- Knowledge of materials handling techniques and mechanical systems is advantageous
- Experience operating forklift trucks or willingness to undertake training for certification
- Ability to load and unload heavy items safely, often requiring manual handling of goods up to 25kg or more
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is beneficial
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure accurate picking and packing
- Physical fitness to perform manual tasks throughout the shift in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within the warehouse setting

Pay: £12.21-£19.54 per hour
