Overview
We’re on the lookout for an all-rounder Chef de Partie to join our small but mighty kitchen crew — a close-knit team who love great food, good laughs, and don’t take ourselves too seriously.
We’re a family-run, independent spot, proudly loved by our locals — the kind of place where regulars know your name and the kitchen is full of teamwork, chatter, and the odd sing-along. No corporate nonsense, no egos, no scary hierarchy — just good food, good people, and a shared passion for what we do.
More Than a Restaurant
We're proud to be a Plot-to-Plate Eco Restaurant, and sustainability is at the heart of everything we do.
We grow some of our own produce in our garden, compost our food waste, and constantly look for ways to minimise waste and make thoughtful use of every ingredient. Our approach is simple: respect the food, respect the environment, and cook with the seasons.
If you have an interest in gardening, growing produce, sustainability, or simply want to learn more about where food comes from, we'd absolutely love to hear from you. This role offers a unique opportunity to be involved in the full journey of food — from plot to plate.
THE FOOD
We cook modern and traditional dishes inspired by the Balkan Peninsula / Eastern Mediterranean, with a big focus on open-fire and barbecue cooking — bold flavours, simple techniques, and ingredients treated with respect.
THE ROLE
We're looking for someone who's happy to get involved in all aspects of the kitchen:
- Running (or learning to run) the barbecue
- Prep and service across sections
- Jumping on the pass when needed
- Contributing ideas and getting involved in menu development
- Taking an interest in our garden and seasonal produce
- Being an active part of a collaborative, supportive team
This could be the perfect role for a chef with 3+ years' experience who's keen to expand their skills, learn the art of cooking over fire, understand how a successful independent restaurant operates, and connect more closely with the ingredients they cook.
THE PERKS
- Thursday to Sunday operation — because work-life balance matters
- £30,000 - £36,000 salary
- Plus service charge averaging £450–£600 per month
- A genuinely supportive environment where your contribution is valued
- Opportunities to learn, grow and be creative
- Direct involvement in a sustainable, environmentally conscious restaurant
If you cook with heart, enjoy working with good people, and are looking for a kitchen where you'll be appreciated rather than just another number, we'd love to hear from you.
Come cook with us, grow with us, and be part of something a little different.
Pay: £30,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
