Business Development Manager £100K+ OTE - Event Furniture Hire

Furniture On The Move is one of the UK's leading furniture hire specialists, providing high quality furniture solutions for exhibitions, conferences, sporting events, hospitality, roadshows and live events across the UK and Europe.
We are looking for an ambitious, target driven Business Development Manager to develop long term relationships with leading London and UK event agencies, securing our position as their preferred furniture hire partner.
This is a remote and field based role covering London and the surrounding areas. (with potential for UK wide and European agencies) It is ideally suited to someone with an excellent understanding of the events and hospitality industry who is confident prospecting by phone, enjoys meeting clients face to face, and is comfortable presenting to senior decision makers.
From day one you will have access to an established database of warm prospects, providing an excellent platform from which to build your client portfolio. Your success will be determined by your ability to build relationships, generate new business and consistently achieve sales targets.
This is a professional B2B business development role focused on winning new business and developing long term client relationships. It is not suitable for candidates whose sales experience is limited to retail environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage relationships with leading London and UK event agencies through regular client meetings, networking and business development activity.
- Secure preferred supplier status with key agency accounts.
- Identify, develop and convert new business opportunities while achieving quarterly sales targets.
- Maximise opportunities from an established database of warm agency contacts.
- Represent Furniture On The Move at exhibitions, trade shows and industry networking events.
- Manage your sales pipeline, maintain accurate customer records and prepare quotations.
- Attend weekly Teams sales meetings, occasional meetings in London and monthly team meetings in Bristol.
About You:
- A proven track record in Business Development, Account Management or B2B Sales, ideally within the live events industry.
- Experience within furniture hire, event hire or a closely related sector would be a significant advantage.
- An established network of industry contacts and the ability to develop them into long term business relationships.
- Confident making proactive outbound sales calls and generating new business opportunities.
- Experience preparing compelling sales presentations and presenting to prospective clients.
- Self motivated, highly organised and capable of managing your own diary, pipeline and workload.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A minimum of three years' experience in a Business Development, Senior Sales or Account Management role within a B2B environment.
- Previous experience using HubSpot CRM, or a similar customer relationship management platform.
- Experience within the live events, exhibitions, hospitality or furniture hire sectors is highly desirable.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout London and the UK and to monthly meetings in Bristol.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and CRM systems.
Interview Process:
The recruitment process will include telephone interviews together with a presentation exercise, reflecting the day to day responsibilities of the role.

Important Information:
Please note that this is a genuine performance based business development role. The remuneration package is structured so that the basic salary represents approximately 30% of the £100K+ On Target Earnings (OTE), with the remaining earnings achieved through commission.
Applicants should therefore have a proven history of delivering results in a B2B sales environment and be comfortable working towards quarterly sales targets. This role is best suited to experienced business development professionals who are motivated by performance related earnings and confident in being rewarded for the results they deliver.
