Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Community Care/ Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting service users providing home care services. Duties
- Assist service users with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
- Support service users with their individual care plans, ensuring personalised care is delivered effectively
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, promoting their mental wellbeing
- Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals and maintain accurate records
- Help with meal preparation and feeding when necessary, ensuring dietary requirements are met
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Record observations and report any changes in service users’ health or behaviour to the relevant healthcare team
- Support with light domestic tasks to promote independence and dignity
- Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes efficiently
- Drive residents when required, ensuring safe transportation for appointments or outings
Qualifications
- Experience providing home care services
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for roles involving transportation of residents
- Good command of English, both written and spoken, to communicate effectively with residents and team members
- Strong IT skills for maintaining accurate records and completing documentation digitally
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to listen empathetically and respond appropriately
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a caring environment
