Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter and Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, varnishes, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high standards of quality and safety. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, from residential to commercial properties, contributing to the aesthetic and protective qualities of buildings. The ideal applicant will possess strong communication skills, a good understanding of construction painting techniques, and a valid driving licence for travel between sites.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling holes, and masking areas to ensure a smooth finish.
- Apply paint, brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Follow project specifications and colour schemes accurately to meet client expectations.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, including the safe storage of tools and materials.
- Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and supervisors regarding project progress or issues.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction painting or decorating is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
- Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate site travel.
- Good command of English language for effective communication on-site.
- Strong attention to detail with an organised approach to work tasks.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical fitness to undertake manual tasks such as lifting materials and working at heights if required.
