Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Community Carers to provide essential support and care to individuals within their homes and local communities. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, patient care, or senior care, and possess a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people's lives. All positions are paid, including internships, and offer an opportunity to develop valuable skills within the caring sector.
Responsibilities
- Providing personalised care to clients with diverse needs, including dementia, Alzheimer's, and hospice care
- Assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
- Administering medication following prescribed guidelines
- Preparing nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
- Supporting clients with light housekeeping and meal preparation tasks
- Managing behaviour and offering emotional support to clients experiencing distress or behavioural challenges
- Driving clients to appointments or social activities as required
- Monitoring health status and reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals or family members
- Maintaining accurate records of care provided and client progress
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, and senior care best practices
- Valid driving licence with a clean driving record
- First aid certification is preferred but not essential; training can be provided
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for mobility assistance or moving equipment
- Excellent communication skills and compassionate demeanour
- Ability to work independently whilst maintaining high standards of care
- Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, afternoons, or evenings as needed
