Join Bristol’s premier family-run coach operator. We are seeking a skilled, pride-driven engineer to ensure the safety and reliability of our diverse fleet. This is a stable, permanent role designed for a professional who values high standards and a consistent day-shift schedule.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Fleet Integrity: Execute routine servicing and planned maintenance across a fleet of buses, coaches, and minibuses.
- Safety Inspections: Conduct rigorous 6-week safety inspections to ensure total roadworthiness.
- Diagnostic Excellence: Perform complex fault diagnosis and carry out mechanical and electrical repairs.
- Compliance Management: Handle MOT preparation and all necessary compliance work to DVSA standards.
- Defect Rectification: Address and resolve vehicle defects promptly to maintain maximum fleet availability.
- Documentation: Complete maintenance records with 100% accuracy to ensure a clear audit trail.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the operations team to prioritize repairs and minimize vehicle downtime.
Requirements
- Technical Expertise: Significant experience working on PSV, HGV, or heavy commercial vehicles.
- Diagnostic Skills: Strong ability to identify and resolve complex mechanical and electrical faults.
- Regulatory Knowledge: A deep understanding of DVSA compliance and safety standards.
- Independence: The ability to manage your own workload and work effectively without constant supervision.
- Professionalism: A reliable, detail-oriented attitude with a commitment to vehicle safety.
- Qualifications: Relevant mechanical qualifications are preferred, though exceptional hands-on experience will be considered.
