Summary
The Positive Impact Academy are seeking to appoint an Education Manager (Kineton) who will be required to manage and deliver intensive work focused around English, Maths, and pre-employment pastoral and mentoring support to young people aged 12-16.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to nurture and support young people whilst challenging and encouraging them to achieve sustainable education and training. You must have previous experience in supporting young people with learning disabilities or students that show challenging behaviour in a coaching and mentoring capacity.
Our partnership with the Stowe Valley Multi Academy Trust has presented an exciting opportunity to provide targeted young people with a personalised education programme. Our primary aim is to develop the skills of all students to the full, enabling them to live and work as independently as possible in society.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Effectively engage with young participants and develop trust-based, intensive relationships to provide an appropriate level of support.
- Deliver maths, english and a range of vocational qualifications to young people within the setting.
- Apply a mix of holistic support and mentoring techniques to help build relationships with the young people.
- Support the young people in actively addressing barriers to education, setting clear goals, short and medium term action plans consistent with engaging in education.
- Regularly review progress and challenges with each young person.
- Manage Health and Safety and Data Protection to legal standards.
- Maintain appropriate caseloads reflecting a young person’s varied levels of need, in order to ensure a flexible, holistic support service addressing education and wider personal support barriers.
- Communicate with the partner agency and other relevant partners to explore and access existing support to address the identified support needs of individual young people.
- Attend relevant meetings with external agencies and professionals.
- Maintain an up to date record of individual action planning and support provided.
- Effectively safeguard young people within the setting.
- Effectively manage support staff accordingly depending on the level of need of each individual young person.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £27,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
