About Us
We are a well-established Modern Chinese Restaurant and Bar with a strong presence in Liverpool City Centre. Offering a unique dining experience, we pair a carefully curated menu of Chinese Small Plates with a vibrant, high-volume bar operation.
The Role
Are you an ambitious Assistant Manager or Floor Manager ready for the next big step in your career?
We are seeking a passionate, hands-on Assistant General Manager to work directly alongside the Owner to steady the ship and drive our venue forward. This role is perfect for a hospitality leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves being on the floor, and wants to master the commercial side of running a business. For the right candidate, this role offers a clear, structured pathway to progress into the General Manager position as the business grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Service & Floor Leadership: Lead from the front during busy weekend shifts, ensuring high standards, smooth service flow, and exceptional customer experiences.
- Day-to-Day Operations: Support the daily running of the venue, including opening/closing procedures, maintaining impeccable housekeeping, and team management.
- Team Development: Help recruit, onboard, and motivate a vibrant front-of-house team, fostering a positive work culture and assisting with staff rotas.
- Systems & Bookings: Support the venue’s digital reservation strategy, managing enquiries and optimising table turn times to keep the room buzzing.
- Commercial Growth (Supported): Work closely with the Owner to learn the ropes of stock control, labour optimisation, and P&L management as you transition toward independent operational ownership.
- Compliance: Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure health, safety, and food hygiene standards are consistently met.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: 1–2+ years of management experience (Assistant Manager / Shift Manager / Supervisor) within a high-volume restaurant or busy bar environment.
- The Right Attitude: A calm presence under pressure, great people skills, and the drive to step up into a senior leadership role.
- Tech-Friendly: Familiarity with hospitality booking systems (experience with DesignMyNight / Collins is a massive bonus, but we can train you on this).
- Passion: A genuine love for great food, premium drinks, and standard-setting hospitality.

- A direct mentorship working alongside an experienced independent owner.
- A clear, agreed-upon developmental framework to step up into the General Manager role.
