Senior Early Years Practitioner for Baby Room
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Senior Early Years Practitioner for one of our Baby Rooms to join our amazing team. Candidates must have a full and relevant Early Years level 3 qualification for this post, not health and social care or teaching assistant. Specific training in the care of babies is also required, although training can be given as part of induction. Experience of working with babies and toddlers is essential.
This is a full time position working a 4 day week.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exemplary baby care and have the ability to communicate effectively with parents and carers. This role involves supporting the nursery environment, ensuring the safety and well-being of babies, providing a warm, caring, reassuring and calm environment and fostering their development through engaging activities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for babies, supporting their developmental needs through quality interactions and providing the highest standards of personalised care.
Responsibilities
- As Senior Early Years Practitioner the successful applicant would have daily responsibility of a baby room, supporting other staff working with them
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development in line with the EYFS.
- Supervise and offer quality interactions with children during playtime, mealtimes, and rest periods to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Ensure that our safeguarding standards are maintained to ensure the safety of the children in our care. Our team have a robust system in place for childrens safety and wellbeing
- Foster a warm, welcoming environment that encourages children's curiosity and interactions.
- Ensure quality interactions to promote developing physical and communication skills.
- Maintain a reassuring environment with calm interactions to enable babies to feel secure and happy.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily routines using iConnect, training can be given.
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding babies progress
- Support management in maintaining compliance with childcare policies and procedures.
- Work with colleagues to ensure that a positive professional environment is maintained where the children remain the constant focus within the rooms.

Qualifications
- Childcare qualifications such as Early Years Educator /NVQ Level 3 in Childcare
- Up to date safeguarding training
- Up to date paediatric first aid
- Proven experience working with children within a nursery or childcare setting.
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices in childcare.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to work flexibly, demonstrating patience, organisation, and a caring attitude towards young children.
