Job Title: Social Worker Advanced Practitioner – Children and Families

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Social Worker Advanced Practitioner to join a Children and Families team in Stockton. The service supports children and young people through statutory assessments, Child in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) planning, and care proceedings, ensuring that safeguarding and positive outcomes are at the centre of practice.

Key Responsibilities of the Social Worker:
- Lead on complex assessments, care planning, and safeguarding interventions.
- Manage high-risk CIN, CP, and Looked After Children (LAC) cases.
- Provide expert guidance, reflective supervision, and mentoring to colleagues, NQSWs, and students.
- Ensure practice is aligned with the Signs of Safety model and statutory requirements.
- Prepare and present detailed reports for court and statutory meetings.
- Work collaboratively with families and multi-agency partners to achieve positive outcomes.
- Maintain accurate case records on the Liquid Logic system.
- Promote and model evidence-based, strengths-focused practice.
Requirements of the Social Worker:
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
- Significant post-qualification experience within children’s services.
- Strong understanding of legislation, policy, and best practice in safeguarding.
- Proven experience handling complex cases and supporting colleagues.
- Skilled in court work and statutory reporting.
- Able to prioritise demanding workloads while maintaining high professional standards.
- Experience using Liquid Logic desirable but not essential.
