Our Care homes division offers a professionally managed laundry service to the residents of the carehomes. We understand that we are laundering personal garments for vulnerable or elderly people, these items require care and attention, we are able to facilitate this at our new plant in Bridgwater. The service we offer will be fully tracked through the washing, drying and finishing processes before being wrapped and returned to the residents.
We are looking for Laundry Operatives who are going to delight in offering our customers a service that makes a difference. You will be processing the customer garments and items to a high standard, following laundry procedures, so attentional to details and excellent customer focus is essential, as well as ensuring health and safety processes are strictly followed. This position requires someone who works well in a team, as this is a brand new facility, so there will be many opportunities for progression and development.
Shift 1: 06.00 - 14.30
Shift 2: 14.00 - 22.30
Shift 3: Sunday 18.00 - 06.00 am - Monday to Thursday 22.30 pm to 06.00
£13.21 per hour
Responsibilities:
- Sorting dirty laundry ready to be loaded into the barrier washers.
- Load/Unload the barrier washer, in the correct manner as trained.
- Load/Unload the wet/dry products into the dryers as trained.
- Move garments safely through the factory floor as directed to the next required station for their processing to continue.
- Completing quality checks on the items as they are folded and packed, to the required standard as trained.
- Any items found below the desired quality, at the press and folding areas to be placed in the correct area for re-wash whilst maintaining good productivity.
- Packing finished items for delivery to our clients and loading clothing and other items onto the vans as required.
- Helping with other general duties within the production facility which may include cleaning, the removal of waste and other duties on site.
- Ensuring Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) are consistently adhered to at the site and whilst operating a piece of equipment as trained.
- Ensure good housekeeping practices are always in operation, to reduce risks around the site of trips, slips and fire.

- Previous experience of working in a fast-paced production environment, ideally with machine operating experience but training will be provided.
