Job summary
We are recruiting an experienced Registered Manager to lead a children’s residential home in Kettering, supporting up to 3 children and young people. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract (maternity cover) and is well suited to someone with an EBD background.
You will take overall responsibility for safeguarding, regulatory compliance, quality of care and team leadership, creating a stable, child-centred environment where young people can thrive.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the home and set a positive, therapeutic culture
- Ensure robust safeguarding practice and full regulatory compliance
- Oversee care planning, quality assurance and continuous improvement
- Recruit, coach, supervise and develop the staff team
- Manage budgets and service performance
- Work flexibly and take part in the on-call rota as required
Required qualifications and experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar setting at senior level
- Level 3 or 4 qualification in Children and Young People’s Workforce
- Achieved or working towards the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (Children and Young People)
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and legislation including the Children Act 1989 and Children’s Homes Regulations
- Experience of budgets and financial management
- Full UK driving licence
- Flexible approach, able to complete on-call duties
Preferred / nice-to-have skills
- Experience in services supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD)
- Strong leadership style with a track record of developing teams
- Confidence supporting good inspection outcomes
