Drivers Mate / Trainee Domestic Appliance Installer
Smarter Appliances LTD have a new opportunity for a drivers mate in London. As a drivers’ mate you will support the installation engineer of a vehicle operating from London on a number of important contracts making deliveries and completing installations to domestic property's across London. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to learn a trade from an experienced engineer with a view to progress in the company. The company will happily pay for any training you require in order to progress.
Smarter Appliances Ltd are a fast growing domestic appliance retailer and operate across London and the Home Counties repairing, delivering and installing all types of domestic appliances.
Role and responsibilities of a Drivers Mate include:
- Assist and support the driver in making multi-drop installations in London.
- Learn all aspects of the drivers mate role and also willing to learn installation engineer role with a view to progress into that role down the line.
- Ensure you are supporting the installation engineer with everything needed, typically un-wrapping, clearing up rubbish from installation, putting in van, hoovering sawdust and any other jobs needed at the time.
- Understand the importance of arriving at jobs on time by using the most efficient routes.
- Learn how to ensure that all paperwork is correct and accurate.
- Drive the Company van as required.
- Understand and follow all company procedures.
- Understand and learn the Highway Code.
- Maintain high standards of good housekeeping.
- Maintain health and safety standards at all times.
Key skills of a Drivers Mate include:
- Good interpersonal skills to deal with customers face to face
- Ability to interpret paperwork and ensure all special instructions are adhered to.
- MANUAL Car driving licence (maximum 3 points)
- Interest in learning the skills and role to become an installation engineer.
- Hard working, flexible, punctual and with a ‘can do’ attitude
