We are looking for a confident and proactive Secondary Cover Supervisor to support a welcoming secondary school environment. This role involves supervising classes during teacher absences, managing classroom behaviour, and helping students stay engaged with their learning.
The successful candidate will work closely with students and staff to support continuity of learning, promote positive behaviour, and contribute to a safe and respectful school environment. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting young people and making a positive impact within education.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged with pre-set work and classroom expectations are maintained.
- Manage student behaviour in line with school policies, promoting a calm, safe, and respectful learning environment.
- Support students who may require additional guidance or behaviour support to help them engage positively with learning.
- Work closely with teaching staff and the wider school team to ensure smooth day-to-day classroom and school operations.
- Contribute to an inclusive and supportive school environment that promotes student wellbeing and positive relationships.
RequirementsEssential
- Experience working within a secondary school setting
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to confidently manage a classroom environment
- A proactive and adaptable approach
Desirable
- Experience supporting students with challenging behaviour
- Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, or similar role
- Experience supporting students with SEN or SEMH needs
