The Quest Academy is seeking to appoint a dedicated and proactive Pastoral Support Assistant to join our team at The Quest Academy. This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in supporting our students’ personal development, wellbeing and behaviour – ensuring that every young person has the opportunity to thrive and succeed.
As a Pastoral Support Assistant, you will work closely with our Heads of Year to maintain the highest standards of behaviour, attendance and conduct across the Academy. You will be a visible and trusted presence for students, providing guidance, consistency and care, as well as responding swiftly and effectively when challenges arise.
The role will be varied and fast-paced. You might begin your day welcoming students at the gate, then spend the morning supporting behaviour investigations, leading restorative conversations, or mentoring individuals who need an extra layer of support. In the afternoon, you could be working with a small group to improve self-regulation or helping to coordinate after-school detentions – all while contributing to the calm, respectful culture we are proud of at The Quest Academy.
The successful applicant will be compassionate, resilient and professional, with a strong sense of fairness and a genuine belief that every young person deserves to succeed. You will be confident in setting boundaries, skilled in building relationships, and passionate about helping students make positive choices.
I would be delighted to receive an application from you if, upon consideration, you feel that this role and The Quest Academy may be right for you. To submit an application, please complete the form at TES Online.
We are looking for someone who is compassionate, resilient and confident in working with young people. You will be able to build strong relationships, uphold clear boundaries and communicate effectively with students, parents and colleagues.
Experience of working with children or young people is essential, and you will be well-organised, reliable and professional at all times. Training in behaviour management, de-escalation and safeguarding will be provided as part of your induction.
The successful candidate will be committed to The Quest Academy’s values of integrity, compassion, respect and courage, and to helping our students make positive choices every day.
At The Quest Academy we know that having great people is our biggest asset and we work very hard to make sure that the posts we offer, the professional development we provide and the environment we create ensure staff are valued, impactful and fulfilled in their roles. Our motto, ‘learning changes lives’ succinctly describes our mission: to improve the life chances of all of our young people by enabling them to achieve outstanding qualifications and develop the personal characteristics necessary to lead fulfilling adult lives. This motto goes further than our students, however. It is also true for staff, and the school community as a whole. We believe that by creating the opportunity and environment in which staff can flourish, they too can enjoy transformational learning. In essence, this is what makes The Quest Academy such an enjoyable and fulfilling place to teach. If you share our passion and drive for education, and would like to join us on our journey, we would very much welcome an application from you.
