Summary
We are seeking a Fabric Cutter (Curtains, Pelmets & Cushions Manufacturing) to join our team. This role is vital in ensuring the precise cutting of fabrics for our bespoke interior projects, contributing to the overall quality and luxury that defines Blocc Interiors Ltd.
You will work closely with our design and production teams to bring elegant visions to life.
Responsibilities
- Measure and cut fabrics, linings, interlinings, and trims according to job sheets.
- Calculate fabric quantities and allowances, including hems, seams, pleats, fullness, and pattern repeats.
- Ensure correct fabric alignment, grain direction, and pattern matching.
- Prepare and label cut fabric bundles clearly for machinists.
- Inspect fabrics for faults before cutting.
- Minimise material waste while maintaining accuracy and quality.
- Maintain cutting equipment and work areas in a safe, organised condition.
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
- Assist with fabric handling and stock control as required
Other Responsibilities
- To familiarise yourself with your company standards and to always adhere to the company and statutory rules, regulations and policies.
- To ensure your working environment remains safe, hygienic, and presentable always.
Skills / Experience and Knowledge
- Experience cutting fabrics within a curtain, upholstery, or similar production environment.
- Strong numerical ability and measurement accuracy.
- Understanding of pattern repeats, fabric grain, and alignment.
- Ability to interpret work orders and production documentation.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using industrial cutting equipment.
- Knowledge of a variety of fabric types and properties.
Working pattern:
Mon - Fri: 7am - 3:30pm
Salary dependent on experience.
