Overview
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Digital Innovation - Head to lead our organisation’s digital transformation initiatives. This pivotal role involves overseeing the development and implementation of advanced digital solutions, ensuring alignment with industry standards such as NIST, and managing complex network and system infrastructures. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive technical expertise across a broad spectrum of IT disciplines, and a strategic mindset to drive technological growth and operational excellence.
Duties
- Lead the design, deployment, and management of enterprise-wide network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, VPN, Cisco routers, firewalls, and VoIP systems.
- Oversee system administration tasks across Windows Server, Linux environments, VMware vSphere, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle databases, and SAN storage solutions.
- Manage cloud-based platforms such as AWS and Azure for scalable application development and deployment.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery plans and information security protocols in compliance with NIST standards.
- Supervise the configuration and maintenance of network support tools like SolarWinds, SCCM, DHCP, IIS, SharePoint, Microsoft Exchange, and remote access software.
- Lead software development projects using SDLC methodologies including Agile Scrum; utilise tools such as Jira and Microsoft Project for project management.
- Ensure robust network security through firewall management, network support strategies, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Drive DevOps initiatives using Docker containers and automation scripts via PowerShell or Python to optimise operational workflows.
- Provide technical support across IT support functions including help desk operations, desktop support, and user training programmes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop APIs for integration purposes; oversee application development projects in C#, JavaScript, .NET, HTML.
- Analyse system performance metrics to recommend improvements; utilise analysis skills to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently.
- Lead leadership initiatives in product management and innovation strategies to enhance digital offerings.
Requirements
- Proven experience in network engineering, systems engineering, IT management, or related roles with a focus on digital transformation projects.
- Extensive knowledge of computer networking, system administration, server management, network security, information security, and disaster recovery planning.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure; experience with virtualization technologies like VMware vSphere or Citrix is essential.
- Strong understanding of SDLC frameworks including Agile Scrum; skilled in project management tools like Microsoft Project or Jira.
- Hands-on experience with network infrastructure components including LAN/WAN/VPN configurations; familiarity with Cisco routers and VoIP systems is advantageous.
- Technical expertise in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python; experience with Docker containers is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with leadership abilities to manage diverse teams effectively.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities; ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear strategies for stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, Cisco CCNP/CCIE, AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect are preferred. Pay: £8,200.00-£11,300.00 per month
