Overview
We are seeking a professional Class 2 Rigid Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a rigid lorry, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent customer service. This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, contributing to the efficient distribution of goods across various locations. Candidates must hold a valid Class 2 driving licence and have relevant experience in commercial driving and delivery operations.
Duties
- Safely operate a Class 2 rigid lorry, including flatbed vehicles when required.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Deliver goods to designated locations in a timely and professional manner, adhering to scheduled routes.
- Assist with loading and unloading cargo, ensuring items are secured properly during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including adherence to road safety laws and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during routes.
- Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and well-maintained throughout the shift.
Skills
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence with relevant experience in commercial driving.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with flatbed or similar vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial vehicle operation.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently across multiple deliveries.
- Good communication skills to liaise professionally with clients and team members.
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as loading/unloading cargo and securing loads on flatbeds.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards of safety and service quality.
Pay: £16.00-£20.00 per hour
