We’re seeking a confident, consistent 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in Year 6 with an ASD diagnosis and behavioural needs. The successful candidate will provide consistent, structured support throughout the school day, helping the pupil remain engaged in learning, regulate their emotions, and make positive behaviour choices. This role requires someone calm under pressure, able to set clear boundaries, and skilled at building a trusting, stable relationship with a child who may display challenging behaviours.
Hourly rate :£14.50- £15+ per hour dependent on experience (plus holiday pay)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with ASD and behavioural regulation needs.
- Deliver intervention strategies set by the school to ensure consistency.
- Maintain clear boundaries while supporting engagement and emotional regulation.
- Supervise the pupil during transitions, breaktimes, and other unstructured periods to ensure safety and stability.
- Monitor safety, behaviour, and participation throughout the school day.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO.
