The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Manager to lead a 3-bed children’s home in Leicester, supporting young people with learning disabilities and complex healthcare needs.
The service is dual registered with Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC), requiring a strong understanding of both regulatory frameworks and the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care.
You will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the home, ensuring compliance, high standards of care, and positive outcomes for young people. This is a key role where you will lead from the front, creating an aspirational and supportive environment for both staff and residents.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Lead and manage a 3-bed children’s home supporting young people with learning disabilities
- Oversee all aspects of service delivery including staff management, supervision, and care planning
- Ensure compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and CQC requirements
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, quality, and regulatory compliance
- Develop and implement tailored care plans based on individual needs
- Manage safeguarding concerns, incidents, and complaints effectively
- Lead, develop, and support the staff team to deliver consistent, high-quality care
- Ensure staff training, development, and qualification requirements are met
- Produce reports, monitoring data, and evaluations in line with organisational requirements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with multi-agency professionals, families, and stakeholders
- Oversee accurate record keeping using software-based systems
- Ensure smooth transitions and offboarding processes for young people
About You
You will be an experienced Registered Manager with a strong background in supporting young people with learning disabilities and complex health needs.
You will also have:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (essential)
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager with Ofsted
- Strong knowledge of both Ofsted and CQC regulatory frameworks
- Significant experience working with learning disabilities in looked-after children’s settings
- Experience supporting individuals with complex healthcare needs
- A background in healthcare settings (e.g. HCA, community complex care) is highly desirable
- Respiratory care experience (preferred)
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Experience with electronic care planning and record systems
- A collaborative and proactive approach
