Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and organised Dental Nurse to join our dental team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent patient care and ensuring smooth daily operations. This role offers an opportunity to work in a friendly environment, supporting both patients and the dental team with efficiency and compassion. The position is suitable for an experienced nurse or somebody looking to gain experience / apprentice.
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression
- Set up decontamination of instruments
- Provide clinical chair-side support to dentists
- Undertake some reception duties should it be required
- Assisting with digital x-rays of patients
- Updating and maintaining dental records on Exact software, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection laws
- Coordinate with dental practitioners, labs, nurses and receptionists to facilitate smooth clinic operations, demonstrating excellent communication skills.
- Provide basic patient care support where necessary, demonstrating empathy and professionalism
- Ensure the surgery area remains tidy, welcoming, and well-stocked.
Experience / Requirements
- Fully Qualified and GDC registered or an interest in starting a career in the dental industry
- Hep B immunity
- Strong attention to detail and CQC standards
- Previous experience in a healthcare or dental environment is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Strong IT skills, including familiarity with exact software (will be trained if not familiar).
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Proven organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment
- Experience in patient care or nursing is beneficial but not mandatory; a caring attitude is essential
- Ability to work well within a team and independently when required
