Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team within a busy warehouse environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, load, and unload materials efficiently and safely. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations and the ability to handle heavy lifting while adhering to safety protocols.
Duties
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load and unload goods from lorries.
- Move materials within the warehouse, ensuring accurate placement in designated areas.
- Maintain an organised workspace by keeping the warehouse clean and free of hazards.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment, reporting any issues for repair or maintenance.
- Utilise a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track inventory levels and manage stock movements.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, ensuring timely dispatch of goods.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations to verify quantities and measurements during loading and unloading tasks.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety regulations.
Experience
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts, with relevant certification preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge for basic equipment repair and maintenance tasks.
- Familiarity with materials handling techniques and best practices.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role.

Hours
- 06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00 Monday to Friday 40 hours a week
£14.34 ph + OT at time and a half after 40 hrs
