Job Summary
Advanced care is seeking compassionate and dedicated Carers and Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and private homes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Experience in senior care, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, hospice care, or home care is highly desirable. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Support with medication administration following prescribed guidelines
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients of all ages, including children and the elderly
- Manage behaviour effectively and implement behaviour management strategies when necessary
- Assist with light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Drive clients to appointments or outings as required, ensuring safety at all times
- Support clients with activities of daily living in accordance with personalised care plans
- Respond promptly to emergencies or urgent situations using first aid skills when needed
- Document care provided accurately and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and family members
Requirements
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or home care is preferred
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, hospice support, and general senior care practices
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for transportation duties
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when required and assist clients with mobility challenges
- First aid certification or willingness to undertake training upon appointment
- Strong communication skills and a caring demeanour
- Ability to work flexibly across various shifts including days and evenings as needed
- Reliable, organised, and able to work independently or as part of a team
