The role – UPKS2 Teacher
You will take responsibility for an Upper Key Stage 2 class, delivering engaging and well-sequenced lessons that enable pupils to make strong academic progress whilst developing independence, resilience and confidence as learners.
There is a clear focus on maintaining high expectations, creating calm and purposeful classrooms and ensuring all pupils are challenged and supported to achieve their best.
What you will be doing
- Leading an Upper KS2 class with strong curriculum delivery and clear progression
- Planning engaging, purposeful and appropriately challenging learning experiences
- Using assessment effectively to inform teaching and identify next steps
- Supporting all learners, including SEND and EAL pupils, to achieve their potential
- Creating a positive, calm and purposeful learning environment
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistency across the phase
- Building strong relationships with pupils, families and staff
- Contributing positively to the wider life of the school community
The ideal candidate – UPKS2 Teacher
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has strong experience teaching in KS2, ideally Upper KS2
- Demonstrates secure curriculum knowledge and confident classroom practice
- Has high expectations for pupil outcomes and behaviour
- Uses adaptive teaching to meet the needs of all learners
- Is reflective, motivated and committed to improving outcomes for all pupils
- Works effectively as part of a collaborative and supportive team
