Job Summary
30 Hours plus overime
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Care Assistant- Nights to join the team of a residential care home for elderly and dementia residents. Mayfield Residential Home is a delightful, family orientated care home in the heart of the pretty market town of Holbeach - opposite the new Aldi store. We have a great team who are passionate, caring, friendly and fun.
Night shift is: 8.45 pm to 7.30 am.
Additional hourly pay uplift for Bank Holidays. Pay rates are reviewed annually on April 1st.
The role offers the opportunity to work with an experienced, friendly and diverse team who show drive and enthusiasm. Flexible working across days and nights would be an advantage.
The role is immediately available.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide the required care to Service Users assisting them to: undress and go to bed; get up, dress and prepare for the day; wash, bath, shower, get oral care, groom, toilet, use commode, handle incontinence, use manual handling equipment, prepare drinks, snacks and feed them, etc.
- Ensure Service Users are safeguarded and that their rights and confidentiality are protected;
- communicate effectively and establish trust with residents and relatives;
- care and support for elderly residents with dementia in their day to day activities; and
- multi-task, problem solve and at all times meet care standards and our policies.
Qualifications and Skills
You should ideally have Level 2, or equivalent, in Health and Social Care or be willing to undertake Level 2. We offer a range of training and personal development opportunities.
You should also have at least 6 months' experience as a care assistant in a residential care home.
