Join Our Expanding Team at Comiston Dental!
At Comiston Dental in Morningside, we are in an exciting phase of growth. We are expanding our practice and growing our team to facilitate this development and provide robust support to our diverse clinical staff.
We pride ourselves on offering exceptional care and a comprehensive range of treatments under one roof—including advanced services in Implants, Oral Surgery, and Endodontics, alongside high-standard routine care and modern GBT Dental Hygiene.
We are a close-knit, supportive team, and we are looking for a qualified, GDC-registered Dental Nurse who brings energy, high standards, and a proactive attitude to join us. (An experienced trainee close to qualification may be considered).
Who We Are Looking For
We aren't just looking for someone to pass instruments; we are looking for a key player to join our work family. The ideal candidate will bring:
- True Initiative: You see what needs to be done before you're asked. You anticipate the dentist’s next step and keep the surgery moving smoothly.
- High Standards & Speed: You take pride in meticulous clinical standards and immaculate decontamination protocols, with the ability to work efficiently and keep pace in a fast-moving, 3-surgery practice.
- Honesty & Integrity: You are reliable, transparent, and take genuine accountability for your work and your surgeries.
- The Perfect Team Fit: You are warm, positive, and communicative. We work hard but we support each other completely, so a friendly, collaborative attitude is a must.
Purpose of the Role
As a Dental Nurse at Comiston Dental, you will play a crucial role in supporting our growing clinical team and ensuring the smooth running of our surgeries. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive patient care, assisting our clinicians with both routine and advanced procedures, and maintaining an exceptionally high standard of cleanliness and organisation. Administration or reception experience would be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical & Chairside Excellence: Provide fast, efficient chairside assistance across routine dentistry and advanced treatments (Implants, Oral Surgery, and Endodontics).
- Surgery & LDU Management: Proactively manage surgery stock, lab work, and decontamination protocols to ensure health and safety regulations are met to the highest standard.
- Patient Flow & Support: Take accurate records and photographs, escort patients warmly, and support the wider team with administrative tasks or patient flow when required.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with your nursing and reception colleagues to keep the practice running like clockwork, especially during peak times.
What We Offer
- Exposure to Advanced Dentistry: Incredible opportunity to expand your clinical skills by working alongside clinicians offering advanced services in Implants, Oral Surgery, and Endodontics, as well as modern Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT).
- A Fantastic Work Environment: Work in a modern, well-equipped practice with a supportive, kind, and genuinely friendly team.
- Professional Growth: Ongoing professional development opportunities to help you progress in your career.
- Competitive Salary: Highly competitive rates, negotiable based on your experience and skills.
Working Days & Hours (Flexible Options Available)
We want to find the right person for our team, so we are open to discussing both full-time and part-time options:
- Option 1 (Full-Time): 4 days per week (approx. 36), including our core busy days.
- Option 2 (Part-Time): 3 days per week (Core days: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday).
