The Role
Lead a dedicated mobile clearance team delivering fast, high-quality bulk waste collection and disposal services across our clints estates. You will balance hands-on fieldwork with daily team coordination to keep our clients’ communities clean, safe, and safe.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise Operations: Schedule, dispatch, and lead a small team of clearance operatives.
- Digital Logging: Use a smartphone or tablet to update job status and upload photos.
- Hands-on Clearance: Drive waste vehicles and assist with lifting and loading bulk items.
- Ensure Compliance: Enforce strict health, safety, and legal waste disposal regulations.
- Drive Efficiency: Optimise daily collection routes to minimise fuel use and transit time.
- Manage Performance: Manage job allocation and team performance.
Health & Safety Compliance
- Safe Lifting: Apply correct kinetic manual handling techniques for awkward, heavy, or oversized items.
- Hazard Management: Identify, handle, and report hazardous substances (COSHH) or sharps safely.
- Legal Compliance: Complete accurate waste transfer notes to maintain a traceable disposal trail.
- PPE & Safety: Maintain and wear mandatory safety boots, high-vis, ballistic trousers, and gloves daily.
- Load Security: Secure all vehicle loads safely using nets or straps before moving between estates.
- Incident Reporting: Flag near-misses, faulty equipment, and unsafe estate conditions immediately.
What You Need
- Leadership Experience: Proven track record managing manual operational or driving teams.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of bulk waste, clearance, or social housing environments.
- Licences: Valid UK Driving Licence (at least 1 year)
· Experience: Driving a Luton 3.5T van
- Tech Literacy: Experience using digital scheduling, routing, or job-logging applications.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to resolve customer queries on-site safely.
- Flexibility: Mandatory overtime and public holiday working when necessary
