This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced transport and logistics professional to join a growing cash management and security operation. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing transport operations, fleet compliance, driver performance, and operational efficiency within a highly regulated and security-focused environment.
The Role
Reporting into senior management, the Transport Shift Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of transport operations, ensuring vehicles, drivers, and operational processes remain compliant, efficient, and customer-focused.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee the daily transport operation and fleet activities

Manage vehicle utilisation, route planning, and operational efficiency

Monitor driver performance, compliance, and telematics data

Ensure compliance with Driver Hours, Tachograph, and Working Time Regulations

Support and manage driver assessments, training, and performance improvement initiatives

Maintain transport records, audit trails, and compliance documentation
-
Liaise with regulatory bodies, auditors, and internal stakeholders as required

Oversee fleet maintenance schedules and vehicle availability

Ensure all vehicle defects are reported and rectified promptly

Support incident investigations and risk management activities

Monitor transport-related costs and operational performance metrics

Promote a strong culture of safety, compliance, and professionalism
Essential Criteria

Previous transport, fleet, or logistics management experience
-
Strong knowledge of transport legislation and compliance requirements

Experience managing drivers and operational teams
-
Knowledge of driver performance monitoring and telematics systems

Excellent communication and organisational skills
-
Ability to work under pressure and make effective operational decisions

Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office packages
Desirable Criteria

Experience within a secure logistics, cash management, security, or high-compliance environment

Professional logistics qualifications or membership

Valid National or International Transport CPC Qualification

Experience managing fleet maintenance and supplier relationships

Knowledge of risk management and operational security procedures
