Are you a qualified HGV Technician looking for a new opportunity in the Northallerton area?
We have recently relocated to our new larger workshop in Londonderry, providing our technicians with a more organised, well-equipped working environment as we continue to invest in our facilities.
We are therefore now seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and repairing heavy goods vehicles and trailers, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. This is a varied role working across a range of makes and models, suited to someone with a strong mechanical background and a proactive approach.
Your responsibilities
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on HGVs and trailers, including inspections, routine servicing and diagnostics.
- Prepare vehicles for MOT to ensure that they are compliant.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and equipment to perform repairs and assembly tasks.
- Complete relevant documentation and paperwork as required.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
Your skills and qualifications will include
- City and Guilds, NVQ3 or equivalent.
- Full UK driving license.
- Ability to perform well independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow written or spoken instructions.
- Ability to work under tight instructions and concentrate over long periods of time.
- Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in HGV and trailer maintenance and repair.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving and practical skills.
Experience
- You must have at least four years of experience working with HGVs and trailers.
- You must have completed an apprenticeship in Heavy Goods Vehicles or have had equivalent training.
Working Hours
Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm.
With overtime available at an enhanced rate, including additional weekday and Saturday hours.
