HGV Class 1 (C+E) Driver - Airfreight & General Haulage

AT Staffing Solutions is recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to work with leading logistics, transport and airfreight clients across Heathrow and the surrounding areas.
We have a variety of assignments available, including Airfreight Imports & Exports, General Haulage, Trunking, Tramping, and local distribution work. Whether you are looking for ad hoc shifts, ongoing work, or a temporary-to-permanent opportunity, we would like to hear from you.
Requirements
- Full UK Class 1 (C+E) Licence.
- Minimum 2 years' HGV Class 1 driving experience.
- Valid Driver CPC.
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- Good spoken and written English with the ability to communicate professionally with transport teams, warehouse staff and customers.
- Flexible to work days, nights, weekends, ad hoc and ongoing assignments.
- Professional, reliable and punctual with a strong safety-first attitude.
Airfreight Drivers
For Airfreight assignments, applicants must also have:
- Valid CO/Level D Air Cargo Security Training Certificate.
- Previous experience within the Airfreight industry.
- Experience with Heathrow import and export operations.
- Good understanding of airline cargo procedures and security requirements.
Essential Knowledge & Experience
Successful applicants should have experience with:
- Roller Bed Trailers.
- Curtain Siders.
- Box Trailers.
- Refrigerated Trailers (desirable).
- Double Deck Trailers (desirable).
- General haulage and/or airfreight transport operations.
- Import and export paperwork.
- Vehicle defect reporting.
- Run Sheets.
- Delivery Notes.
- Collection Notes.
- PODs (Proof of Delivery).
- CMR documentation (where applicable).
- Customs paperwork (where required).
- Handheld scanners and transport management systems.
Compliance Knowledge
Drivers must have a good understanding of:
- Digital Tachograph operation.
- Drivers' Hours Regulations.
- Working Time Directive (WTD).
- Daily and Weekly Rest requirements.
- Break requirements.
- Proper use of POA (Period of Availability).
- Correct tachograph mode selection (Driving, Other Work, Break/Rest and POA).
- Manual Entries.
- Legal compliance with all UK and EU Drivers' Hours legislation where applicable.
Responsibilities
- Carry out daily vehicle safety and defect checks.
- Operate Class 1 vehicles safely and professionally.
- Complete deliveries and collections accurately and on time.
- Ensure all paperwork is completed correctly.
- Maintain full compliance with Drivers' Hours, Tachograph and WTD regulations.
- Secure loads safely where required.
- Communicate effectively with transport planners and customers.
- Represent both AT Staffing Solutions and our clients professionally at all times.
Airfreight & General Haulage Opportunities
Don't have a CO/Level D Air Cargo Security Certificate? You are still encouraged to apply.
We recruit experienced Class 1 drivers for both Airfreight and General Haulage clients.
Drivers with a valid CO/Level D certificate will be considered for both Airfreight and General Haulage assignments, while drivers without CO/Level D can be considered for our General Haulage opportunities.
