We are seeking a Saw Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating saw machinery to accurately cut and shape various materials, primarily sheet metal. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in fabrication and mechanical processes to contribute to high-quality production standards within a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate saw machines to cut materials according to specified dimensions and tolerances
- Set up and adjust saw blades, tooling, and fixtures to ensure precise cuts
- Monitor machine operation for safety and efficiency, making adjustments as necessary
- Inspect finished components for quality, ensuring adherence to specifications
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and perform routine maintenance on equipment
- Assist with material handling, including loading and unloading sheet metal or other raw materials
- Follow safety protocols at all times, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Skills
- Proven experience in fabrication, with knowledge of sheet metal working techniques
- Proficiency in grinding, welding, and the use of hand tools and tooling systems
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to machine operation and maintenance
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and basic mathematical measurements for precise cutting
- Familiarity with assembly processes and the use of basic hand tools
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure high-quality outputs
- Ability to work efficiently within a team environment while maintaining safety standards
The hours of work are Monday to Friday 08:30-16:30.
Pay rate is £13.90 per hour.
This is a Temp to Perm opportunity.
Site are looking to upskill the right person also on their Bandsaw machine, laser machine and any other relevant areas.
This role includes booking in and wrapping of stock also.
