Location: Norwich (hybrid working; 2–3 days per week office‑based)

To support our journey of commercial excellence, Balfour Beatty’s is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the Commercial team on the @One Alliance and play a key role in delivering successful project outcomes.
What you'll be doing
What you’ll be doing:
As a Quantity Surveyor within the @One Alliance, you will act as the commercial conscience of the integrated delivery team, providing commercial support to both project management and site‑based delivery teams.
You will ensure operations are delivered in line with cost control objectives, maximising value, minimising future liabilities, and maintaining the required standards of quality and safety. You will also ensure consistent compliance with Alliance and Anglian Water governance procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of commercial and cost management for projects or programmes, as directed by the Project Commercial Manager
- Ensure robust cost management processes are in place, supported by accurate and timely reporting, data and analysis
- Support commercial decision‑making through effective forecasting and cost control
- Ensure project teams, including site staff, fully understand contractual arrangements and partner requirements
- Work collaboratively with delivery teams to identify, implement and monitor efficiency plans throughout the project lifecycle
- Maintain accurate commercial records, including final accounts, to support audits and cost assurance
Who we're looking for
About You
- Extensive experience in cost and commercial management
- Degree (or equivalent) in a commercial, engineering, management or cost discipline is desirable
- A strong passion for pursuing a career in Commercial Management
- Confident communicator with first‑class customer service and leadership skills
- In‑depth knowledge of construction and safety standards
- Comfortable challenging processes and practices to drive continuous improvement
