Canterbury Christ Church University is seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Head of Marketing to lead our performance marketing, campaign strategy and product marketing functions at a pivotal time for the institution.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly transformed Marketing, Digital and CRM directorate and play a leading role in delivering student recruitment growth across undergraduate, postgraduate and lifelong learning markets. Working closely with the Director of Marketing, Digital & CRM, you will ensure our marketing investment delivers measurable impact, strong return on investment and meaningful engagement with prospective students.
You will lead a talented team of marketing professionals responsible for campaign delivery, market positioning, audience targeting and paid media strategy, while helping shape how the University responds to changing market conditions and student expectations.
Who are we looking for?
As Head of Marketing, you will be a strategic and data-driven marketing leader with a strong track record of delivering high-performing campaigns that achieve measurable business outcomes.
You will bring significant experience leading marketing or performance marketing teams, developing integrated campaign strategies and using audience insight, analytics and market intelligence to drive decision-making. You will be equally comfortable discussing recruitment performance with senior leaders as you are coaching your team to deliver exceptional results.
You will have excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to build strong partnerships across academic and professional service teams. Experience of product marketing, market positioning, media planning and campaign optimisation is essential.
You will be educated to degree level (or hold equivalent professional experience) and be able to demonstrate significant success in leading performance-focused marketing activity. Experience working with CRM systems, digital platforms and analytics tools is essential. Experience within higher education or another complex, customer-focused organisation would be advantageous.

How will you work?
We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible.
This role operates within our Flexible and Connected (Professional Services) framework. Campus attendance will vary on a day-to-day basis and across the year but must purposefully align to the needs of our students, staff and stakeholders. It is expected that there will be a relatively even balance between time spent on and off campus, with work location determined by the service required and activities being undertaken.
The role is based primarily at our Canterbury campus, with occasional travel to other University locations and some evening or weekend working during key recruitment periods.
