We are a family-run business based in Granton, Edinburgh, supplying fresh produce to customers across Scotland. Working within the catering trade means our environment is fast-paced, hands-on, and highly rewarding. We are now looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Lead Warehouse Operative to join our small but busy team.
The Role
As a Lead Warehouse Operative, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of our warehouse. Alongside general warehouse duties, you will take responsibility for shift management and supervising team members to ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage daily warehouse shifts, including prioritising, organising, and delegating tasks
· Maintain high standards across the warehouse environment
· Supervise and support 1–2 warehouse operatives
· Unload incoming deliveries and check stock for accuracy and quality
· Store stock efficiently, following stock rotation practices and BRC standards
· Restock picking areas for the packing team
· Conduct accurate stock checks to support purchasing decisions
· Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning duties
· Prepare customer orders for delivery as required
· Liaise with colleagues across departments to ensure effective communication
Skills & Experience
· Previous warehouse experience (essential)
· Positive, enthusiastic, and proactive attitude
· Experience operating a forklift truck (essential))
· Experience leading or supervising a team (desirable)
· Ability to develop strong product knowledge (essential)
Please note: This is a physically demanding role involving long periods on your feet and regular manual handling, including lifting up to 25kg.

Working Hours
· Monday to Friday: 6:00am until finish (typically between 2:00pm – 4:00pm, depending on workload)
· Alternate Saturdays: 7:00am – approx. 12:00pm
