We are seeking a talented and passionate Live-In Chef to join our team at a welcoming hotel. This is a hands-on role for an experienced chef who takes pride in preparing high-quality, freshly made food and delivering excellent dining experiences for guests.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, overseeing food preparation and service for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events. Comfortable live-in accommodation is provided as part of the package, making this an excellent opportunity for a chef seeking a rewarding lifestyle role within a friendly hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes to a consistently high standard.
- Manage the daily operation of the kitchen, ensuring efficient service throughout breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
- Develop and prepare seasonal menus, daily specials, and function menus.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and portion control.
- Monitor stock levels, place orders, and ensure effective stock rotation.
- Minimise waste and maintain food cost controls.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and professional kitchen environment.
- Work closely with management and front-of-house teams to ensure excellent guest experiences.
- Assist with catering for private events, functions, and special occasions.
- Manage kitchen records and documentation as required.
- Lead by example and maintain a positive and professional working environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Chef, Sous Chef, or Head Chef within a hotel, restaurant, pub, or hospitality environment.
- Strong culinary skills and a passion for fresh, quality food.
- Ability to work independently and manage all aspects of kitchen operations.
- Good knowledge of stock control, ordering, and food costing.
- Thorough understanding of food hygiene regulations and HACCP procedures.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to perform well under pressure during busy service periods.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
